The first ‘R’ model in the latest generation of the XJ range, and the latest in a long line of high-performance, luxurious Jaguar sports saloons, the XJR incorporates bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments to create the most focused, agile and responsive member of the XJ family.
The XKR-S GT has been developed by Jaguar’s ETO division to be the ultimate track-focused but road-going iteration of the XK coupe. Extensive aerodynamic and suspension changes, as well as the addition of carbon ceramic brakes, have combined to give the XKR-S GT race-car inspired connected feel and braking performance.
The ‘R’ badge adorns the flagship performance models in the Jaguar range. It denotes cars that are effortlessly thrilling, technically state-of-the-art and dramatically designed.
Jaguar will expand its R performance line-up with the global debut of the XJR at the 2013 New York International Automobile Show. The new high-performance model, the dynamic flagship of the XJ series, will join the expanding Jaguar line-up on display that includes All-Wheel Drive sedans and the F-TYPE sports car, which goes on sale this summer.
The new Jaguar XFR-S will make its global dynamic debut on the famous Goodwood Hill on Wednesday 20 March. Finished in Italian Racing Red, the prototype version of Jaguar’s fastest ever sports saloon will be driven in front of a media audience at Goodwood by 1988 Le Mans 24hr race winner Andy Wallace.
Today, Jaguar and Ridley Scott Associates released the trailer to their short feature film named ‘Desire’. The film stars Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, Jordi Moller and Shannyn Sossamon alongside the all-new Jaguar F-TYPE. Lana Del Rey, who recently won a BRIT for Best International Female, has written the title song ‘Burning Desire’.
